Eagles earn threepeat with another men's national championship
Plano, Texas –Oxford Emory (Ga.) claimed the NJCAA Division III men's tennis championship for the third consecutive season. With 27.5 total points the eagles nudged past second place Brookdale which finished with 26 points on their victory Thursday.
Oxford Emory entered the final day of matches with players in all matches except No. 2 singles and No.1 doubles. The Eagles were awarded vital points winning No.1, 3 and 5 singles respectively as well as No.3 doubles.
Freshman Guillermo Cabral, sophomore Akshay Raghuram and freshmen Gordon Hua added to the Oxford Emory cause as each secured singles victories at the No 1, 3 and 5 flights.
The Eagles also claimed flight three's double championship thanks to Henry Hua and Anuraaj Sonawala.
The Eagles have earned six titles in the last 10 years with previous titles coming in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2015 and 2016.
