Stallions Capture GCAA Golf Championship; All region team determined
Tifton, GA — Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) men's golf team captured the GCAA Championship Monday at Spring Hill Golf Club. The Stallions depart the GCAA as champions as they move next year to the 4-yr level and the NAIA.
The Stallions won the 36-hole multi divisional tournament by 13 strokes (583) over Andrew College, with Stewart Rustin capturing the low medalist with a 66/73 two round 139 total. Andrew carried a two round total of 596. GMC finished third at 608.
Stewart Rustin(139), Whit Hayes(145) Kelsey Meranda(150) of ABAC, Linus Landhal(141) of Andrew, Brady Wentz (145) of Georgia Military were named to the GCAA All Region team as the top five finalists. ABAC Coach Sonny Skinner was selected as Coach of the Year.
ABAC advances to the NJCAA DII district tournament at the Golf Club of Bristol(TN) on April 21-23 with the goal to move on to nationals.
