Oxford sweeps GCAA Cross Country Titles; Rexer and Burton win individuals events

MACON - Oxford Emory swept the 2017 Region 17 Cross Country Championships at the Georgia Children's Home in Macon. The Eagles took the titles in what was nearly a perfect score for both teams.

For the second consecutive year, Oxford's Emily Rexer won the women's 5K (3.1 miles) in 19:43:0.

Oxford Emory College scored 18 points, Georgia Military College finished second with 42 points and Central Georgia Technical College finished 3rd with 69 points.

In the men's race, Eagles Justin Burton won the men's 8,000-meter run. Burton finished the 8K (5 miles) in 25:25.3.

Oxford-Emory won taking the top 5 spots and finishing with a perfect score 15 points. Georgia Military College took 2nd with 53 points. South Georgia State College finished third with 75 points.
