Lady Cavs takes 2nd at DSC Invite

ALBANY - Darton State sophomore Amber Braswell ran the women's 5K race in 22:23 to lead the Lady Cavaliers to a second place finish at the DSC Invitational Saturday.

She and Tatiana Forester finished ninth and tenth, respectively, to put two Darton runners among the overall top ten. Forester finished one second behind Braswell. Also scoring for Darton were Shamicah Tardy (23:36), Victoria Parra (23:37), and Stephanie Estrada (24:39).

Point University won the race with a perfect score of 15. Point's frontrunner, Samantha Greenlee, won with a race time of 20 minutes even. Darton scored 67 points. SCAD Atlanta scored 82 to finish third.

The Lady Cavaliers will race again Saturday at the GSW Remembrance Run in Americus.
