GCAA XC teams converge for first time

For the first time this season, all GCAA team will converge in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains to compete in the North Georgia Tech Mountain Invitational.  At press time there are 11 women's teams and 8 men's teams scheduled to compete.

Chattahoochee Tech, Darton, Gordon, North Georgia Tech and South Georgia will compete in the women's 5K and men's 8K. The Darton State College women’s and men’s teams enter the meet having placed 14th and 12th, respectively, in this week's NJCAA D-1 cross country polls

Other teams participating on the women's side are: North Georgia, Piedmont, Point, Brenau, Life and Reinhardt. The men's teams participating are: Piedmont, Point and Reinhardt. The field could grow as NGTC Coach Bob Roller was waiting on confimations from severl other teams.

In its second year the NGT mountain invitational has increased the number of participating schools by 50% with a goal to make this one of the season's premier races. The meet is scheduled for 5:15pm Friday Sept. 7
