CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The Lady Tigers took out West Ga. Tech on Saturday in Carrollton, Ga., winning game one in a mercy-rule fashion 10-0, then knocking off the Lady Gollden Knight 6-2 in the nightcap.
In game one, Kierra West powered the Tiger offense, going 2 for 3 with 5-RBI, including a grand slam homerun in the top of the 1st inning to get the Tigers started. Cheyenne Tillman and Angela Heimback both had a pair of hits, with Tillman picking up a double, and Heimback, two doubles and a run driven in. Charlie Smith ran her record to 10-6 on the seaon, allowing just 3 hits and striking out 6 in 4 innings of shutout ball.
Game two, saw Heimback go 3 for 4, score 2 runs, drive in 4, while blasting her 6th and 7th home runs of the season. Taylor Sheffield also went 3 for 4, including a double, and picked up 2-RBI, while Kenley Kennedy went 2 for 3. Madison Logan picked up her 1st win of the season, allowing just one hit and one earned run in 4 innings of work.
The two wins run the Lady Tigers total to 14 on the season, breaking the record set in both the past two seasons, for wins in a single season.
The Tigers are back at Hord on Tuesday for a big GCAA matchup against G.M.C. The first game starts at 1:00 pm.
