Darton takes 1st at DSC Invite

Cavaliers win opening meet

ALBANY - Sophomores David Thornton, Austin Stewart and Jose Bautista took the top three spots as the Cavaliers won the DSC Invite Saturday.

Darton finished with 25 points. SCAD Atlanta finished second with 57 and Point University finished third with 72 points. Thornton won the collegiate 8,000-meter run in 28:37. Stewart finished twenty seconds later and followed closely by Bautista, who ran a 29:06. Jelanie Omari finished sixth overall with a time of 30:52. Andrew Elias finished in 32:42 to finish 13th overall and fifth for the Cavs.

Darton will travel to Americus, Saturday, for the GSW Remembrance Run.
