Three Darton runners earn academic honors

ALBANY – Region 17 Cross Country Coach of the Year Bruce Skiles has student-athletes that keep winning, even after cross country season.

Three of his distance runners earned Academic All-America honors from the NJCAA Cross Country Coaches Association, recently.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Winter, an exercise science major from Albany, and freshmen Chandler Tabb of Leary and Amber Braswell of Bainbridge all received awards.

“These student-athletes are a fine representation of our program,” Skiles said. “They are highly motivated, hard-working, and have bright futures ahead.”

The trio capped off a successful 2013 athletics season that brought Darton its fifth consecutive sweep of the men’s and women’s GCAA/Region 17 Championships.
