GCAA Soccer post season kicks off today

With the regular season complete and seeding determined, the GCAA men's and women's soccer post season starts today. The women's play-in games feature #3 Middle Georgia State hosting # 6 Gordon State at 6pm, while #4 South Georgia State hosts #5 Georgia Military. Today's winners will advance to GCAA tournament to face regular season co-champs Georgia Perimeter and Darton. Georgia Perimeter was awarded the #1 seed as a result of the tie breaker system with Darton getting the #2 slot in the bracket. The women's semifinals and finals will be Friday and Saturday with the tournament champion going to the NJCAA national tournament.

The men's play-in games take place on Wednesday with #3 Georgia Military hosting #6 Andrew at 7pm and #5 Middle Georgia will host #4 East Florida as the Florida champion takes part in the men's tournament. Much like the women's top two seeds, Darton and Georgia Perimeter also finished tied as regular season co-champs but in this case Darton was awarded to #1 seed via the tie breaker system. The men's semis and finals will be Saturday and Sunday with the winner advancing to host next week's district championship against the winner of Region 10. The district champion will advance to the NJCAA national soccer tournament.
