ANDREW COLLEGE’S TANCRED SIGNS WITH LYNN UNIVERSITY
Cuthbert, Ga. – Lynn University's head men's golf coach, Andrew Danna, announced the signing of Andreas Tancred to a national letter of intent during the early signing period on Thursday. Tancred currently plays for Andrew College and will join the Fighting Knights for the 2015-2016 season.
"I am very happy and pleased to have [Tancred] join us next fall. He is a very special young man who possesses a lot of talent to play the game, but I'm especially intrigued by the level of consistency and positive progression he has shown since his junior golf days back in Sweden," said Danna. "He also is a great student, which I think plays a big part in his success on the golf course. Overall, [Tancred] will be a great fit for the men's golf program here."
One of the top golfers in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA), Tancred ranks as the No. 1 player in his region and the fifth-ranked overall player in the country. At the conclusion of the fall season, the Stockholm, Sweden, native posted a 70.75 stroke average over three tournaments and was No. 14 on Golfstat's Top-100 NJCAA Players to Watch. His top performance came at the Dale Dover Invitational Tournament, where he tied for first with scores of 69-73-66 for a 54-hole total of 208.
