Blomdahl Scores an Albatross
Timothy Blomdahl, Andrew College freshman, hit the shot of a lifetime on Tuesday, March 5 at the Doublegate Collegiate Invitational Golf Tournament in Albany, Georgia.
Blomdahl hit a rare albatross (3 under par) on the 510-yard 15th hole of the Doublegate Country Club course, scoring a 2 on the par 5 hole. Blomdahl’s second shot from 240 yards out with a 3 wood rolled up the green and into the cup for only the second double eagle in the history of the hole.
“I hit a low fade that landed just in front of the green, bounced once and then rolled into the hole,” said Blomdahl. “I threw my club and screamed. I couldn’t believe it. I have hit a hole in one before, but this was better.”
