Titans win GCAA championship with victory over South Georgia Tech.
ROME, GA. ---For the first time in the school history, the Central Georgia Technical College men's basketball team can call themselves GCAA Champions and they are going to the NJCAA national championship tournament.
The third-seeded Titans captured the GCAA/Region 17 tournament with three victories this week and punctuated their dominance with an 74-52 victory over fourth seeded South Georgia Technical College Sunday at the Corral on the Georgia Highlands College campus in Rome.
Next stop for the Titans (25-8) is Hutchinson, Kansas, for the NJCAA national tournament March 19-24.
Anyeuri Castillo led the Titans with 22 points and 9 rebounds while Elijah Farrakhan contributed 15 points shooting 4/5 from behind the 3-pt arc leading the Titans to the win and the GCAA championship.
