Highlanders strong season continues with Region title

Highlands continue successful season run and win Region 17 baseball championship. 

Coming into the GCAA baseball tournament with a 47-7 regular season record, one would have thought that it was the Gordon State's tournament to lose, and the Highlanders provided confirmation by going undefeated and winning the GCAA/ Region 17 Baseball Tournament in Albany, GA at the former Darton field now Albany State University -West. 

After scratching out opening day win 4-3 against the #4 seed South Georgia State Hawks, Gordon State was dominate in day two in defeating #2 seed East Georgia State 12-3. Those two wins set the stage for the Highlanders going into day three and the championship game. 

The Highlanders faced the Hawks again. as SGSC had to work their way through the loser's bracket to get the championship game.

Gordon State's hot hand continued as they took the title with a 18-11 win. The Highlanders(50-7) will travel to Morristown, TN to face Walters State(50-9) in the best of three series for the East Central District Title and the right to go to the NJCAA Baseball Tournament in Grand Junction, CO.
