Since beginning GCAA play, the road has been difficult for West Georgia Tech. Coming into the series with Andrew, the Golden Knights were just 2-10 in league play.
After dropping Game One last Tuesday in Carrollton 4-2, the prospects going to Cuthbert did not look too good. However, WGTC got off the deck by taking two of three at Andrew over the weekend to improve to 15-23, 4-12 in league play.
In Friday's game, the Golden Knights trailed 1-0 after three innings, but exploded for six runs in the fourth and four in the fifth en route to an 11-4 win. Connor Wilson got the win, giving up just one run over seven innings.
On Saturday, Cullen Monette limited the Fighting Tigers to just two hits and two runs, one of which was earned, but WGTC mustered just one hit and lost Game One 2-0.
Game Two proved to be another pitching duel. This time, the Golden Knights scratched out a run in the fourth inning and Jake McLinskey scattered just three hits to get the shutout, 1-0.
