Lady Eagles National Title Streak Unprecedented
Peachtree, GA— Winning back to back titles are an impressive feat, but winning five consecutive might never be broken. Yet this is just what the Lady Eagles of Oxford Emory have done. They have added this year to last year's record breaking feat of four consecutive titles.
In the process, Oxford Emory has claimed another record breaking sixth overall NJCAA DIII championship by dominating the field.
The Lady Eagles tallied a tournament-best 36 team points to win the title. Northhampton totaled 26 points to finish second, followed by SUNY Broome who recorded 17.5 points.
Sophomore Cody Lu took home No. 1 singles for Oxford Emory, Allison Park captured No. 2 singles. Freshman Francis Lee took the No. 3 singles title, June Woo claimed No. 4 singles, Jenna Shin won No. 5 and Hailey Kim finished the sweep taking the No. 6 singles.
Oxford Emory captured all six singles flights for the fourth consecutive year. The Eagles also won all three doubles flights for the fifth straight year as Lu and Lee teamed up to win No. 1 doubles . With Park and Woo taking No. 2 and Kim and Shin winning No. 3.
The six DIII titles for the Eagles, builds upon their previous record for most all-time set last year by the team. The team standings and final scores are listed below.
