Darton topples Georgia Highlands; shares no.1 spot in GCAA

ALBANY – Darton State College beat Georgia Highlands College 82-61 today to become the No. 1 team in the Georgia Collegiate Athletics Association.
Sophomore Shanea Armbrister led the way with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
B'Kiya Webb led in rebounds with a game-high 11. She also scored 13 points to get the double-double. Tamarah Fisher and Jeslynn Mahone also hit double-digit scores today, netting 15 and 12 apiece, respectively.
Georgia Highlands led until about the ninth minute of the first half. Once Darton took the lead, the Lady Cavaliers never gave it back. By the end of the half, Darton led 49-26.
Darton is now 2-0 in conference play and 9-1 overall. The Lady Cavs are No. 15 in the NJCAA.
They'll host Chattahoochee Tech on Wednesday at 6 p.m., in the Cavalier Arena.
