Lady Cougars get first 20 win season in history

The CGTC Lady Cougars learned earlier in the day that they were
ranked #32 in the nation (NJCAA), also that standout PG Ta"Kierra
Gibbs (Putnam County)was named National Player of the Week.
Gibbs averaged 24 points, 15.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 7.2 steals per game during a stretch of 3 games.
Then the Lady Cougars took the court against GA Perimeter College in search of their 20th win of the season. CGTC jumped out to an early lead with a 50-32 advantage at the half. The Lady Cougars came out flat in the second half but had enough to win their 20th game of the season and improve to 20-4 on the season.
The Lady Cougars were led by #20 Ta'Kierra Gibbs (19 pts / 13
rebs) and Jasmine Grier (18 pts / 11 rebs), Shermika Harris added
14 points and LaKeisha Beasley pulled down 13 rebounds.
Georgia Perimeter forward Ronita Garrett led all scorers with 32
points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore PG Larissa Stafford added
16 points for GPC. The Lady Jaguars fall to 11-11 on the season
trying to remain in the playoff hunt.
