Campers learn skills from WGTC softball camp
CARROLLTON, Georgia – West Georgia Tech head softball coach Stephanie Herrera welcomed 40 area campers to her first WGTC Junior Knights Softball Camp which was held on July 12th at Lithia Springs Park.
WGTC softball players led the single-day camp, which provided instruction on defensive, hitting, base running and pitching skills.
“I am very pleased with the turnout and the overall experience that we were able to provide for these young ladies,” Herrera said. “This is definitely something that we plan on turning into a yearly event as our softball program continues to develop. Reaching out to our local communities is certainly one of our main priorities.”
WGTC softball is coming off a NCSA World Series appearance this past season. The Golden Knights will move up to compete as a division one junior college next year.
