Stallions Capture Golf Title; Hixson earns low medalist honors
Tennille. GA — ABAC, Andrew and Georgia Military gathered yesterday for the 36 hole GCAA Golf match at Twin City Country Club with all looking to be crowned 2021 Champions.
The ABAC Stallions finished the 36 hole event with a top score of 626. ABAC captured the GCAA the title by 5 strokes(626) over Georgia Military College(631). While Andrew College finished third at 661.
It took a one hole playoff to determine the low medalist with Andrew College's Connor Hixson finishing with a 36-hole total 154. He led the GCAA all-region team along with teammate Emil Wallinder, ABAC's Brock Barber, Ian Arnold and GMC's Austin Quillian as the top five finalists.
ABAC's captured last week's DII Southeast District title to advanced to the NJCAA National tournament, while Andrew travels to Birmingham next week for the DI district and GMC will travel to Chautauqua, NY as the region's DIII representative and to seek another title opportunity as national champion for the NJCAA DIII golf championship in June.
