Stallions take rain delayed GCAA Golf Championship
HELEN. GA — The GCAA Golf Championship and NJCAA District J Championship finally took place Tuesday at Innsbrook Resort and Golf Club in a tournament that was delayed two days due to torrential rain. The delay ultimately forced the 36 hole tournament to be reduced to a one day 18 hole event.
The ABAC Stallions won the multi divisional tournament by 13 strokes(321) over Andrew College(334). While Georgia Military College finished third fifteen strokes back at 336.
As low medalist, Stallion Adam Park won the individual championship finishing with a 78 on Wednesday. He led the all-tournament team along with teammates Ryan Walters and Andrew Nagel. Andrew's Rasmus Konradsson and Logan Bracey were also named to the GCAA All Region team as the top five finalists.
By virtue of ABAC's score they also advanced as District J champions to the NJCAA National tournament that begins May 21-24 at Glenlakes Golf Club in Foley, AL.
GMC will head to Chautauqua, NY as the region's DIII representative and to defend their title as national champions for the NJCAA DIII golf championship on June 5-8th.
