Titans bounce back with win over Albany Tech
Macon, Ga – The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) men's basketball team bounced back from a two-game losing streak with their 69-54 win against Albany Technical College Wednesday night at Titans Arena. The Titans are now 4-4 in the conference and 13-9 overall.
Executing their aggressive-styled offense, the Titans were able to control the game from its offset and keep Albany Tech on their heels. Much of the Titans' scoring resulted from their ability to drive through the lane at-will and score at the rim.
Freshmen Darryl Tucker, Jr. and Anthony Johnson's inside and mid-range play was key for the Titans' offense. Finishing with 14 points, Tucker Jr. pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds. Johnson recorded 12 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one blocked shot.
The inside presence of Johnson and Tucker, Jr. opened up the offense for the Titans and their outside shooting. Freshman Camryn Moye was able to exploit Albany Tech's defensive lapses with his great three-point shooting. Moye finished the game with 12 points, three rebounds, and 2 assists on 4-of-5 shooting from three-point range.
Sophomore Mike Harden had another big game for the Titans on both ends of the court. Leading the team in scoring, Harden finished with 18 points, five rebounds, six assists, and two steals.
The Titans are back on the court Saturday, January 20 at South Georgia Technical College. Game time starts at 3:00 p.m.
