Central Ga Tech gives back to the Macon community
The Central Ga Tech Cougars Get Involved, Led By New Coach Reco
Dawson
MACON, GA — The CGTC Cougars took to the Streets and gave
back in a big way for two deserving local organizations this past
weekend. Street to Success, which helps Provide a safe place where
young men from the Houston Ave. south area receive the love &
encouragement, to find a hiding place in Christ, through physical
& spiritual life practices. And The Iron Men’s Health
Fair, which raises awareness about hypertension, high blood
pressure, diabetes, and prostate cancer in the Middle GA
Community.
The CGTC Cougars Basketball team volunteered their time and efforts
by being involved in mentoring, prostate screening, a 5K Walk/Run,
3-on-3 basketball, blood pressure checks, and diabetes screening.
All proceeds went to benefit the American Cancer Society and Street
to Success.
“Our young men, here at CGTC, will provide a shining example
to others in the community”, said Cougars New Head Basketball
coach Reco Dawson. “We want those in the Middle GA community
to know that we want to be involved in this (our) community, and we
will lead the charge in all aspects.”
CGTC Athletic Director, Rorie Bradley said, “Coach Dawson is
a great example for our young men at CGTC. He is from Macon and
displays great enthusiasm for this community that has given so much
to him.”
