GMC takes Doughboy Classic
Columbus, GA - The GMC Bulldogs had a big day as they traveled to Fort Benning and historic Doughboy Stadium defeating DuPage College 59-12 and taking the Doughboy Classic Trophy back to Milledgeville.
The Bulldogs had a complete day gaining 484 yards of total offense, with 308 on the ground and 180 in the air. Travell Jones led the Bulldogs on the ground with 81 yards on 7 carries and a touchdown. The Bulldogs ground game had a total of 5 rushing touchdowns. Two by Tye Edwards.Ty Legget and Te'Darrian Murray each crossed the goal line.
Bulldogs QB Damekus Taylor was 4-5 for 68 yards and 2 TDs and Nick Bohn was 5-6 for 55 yards. Dayton Reeder led all receivers with 5 catches for 80 yards and 2 TDs. Torenio Davis also hauled in a TD pass.
The Bulldog defense stymied the Chaps throughout the day and recording 5 sacks and 2 interceptions.Bryon Young led the way with 5 tackles and 3 sacks. Yaya Diaby, Rod Gattison and Ty Washington each had 4 tackles. Naszir Malloy and Carlos Best each grabbed an interception.
