ABAC
Coming into the GCAA baseball tournament it had been a long time since Abraham Baldwin had earned a GCAA title in baseball, 1984 to be exact. So the Stallions were glad to be in the postseason action even if they were the #4 seed. This year however was going to be different.
After a convincing opening day win 11-2 against the #1 seed EGSC Bobcats, there was a sense that ABAC might have the hot hand this tournament. That hot hand continued into day 2 with another dominate win against #2 seeded South Georgia State 10-1. Those two wins propelled the Stallions into the championship game and control of their own destiny needing only one more victory.
ABAC faced the Hawks, who had to work their way through the loser's bracket to get the Championship game. ABAC's hot hand continued as they took the title with a 5-1 win. The Stallions will host the East Central District Championship this week against Walters State in a best of three series.
