W. GA Tech Baseball Gives Back To Community Youth
DOUGLASVILLE, Georgia --
West Georgia Tech baseball coach Todd Pratt held his third annual training camp for youth baseball this spring at Bill Arp Park in Douglasville with the assistance of the 2013 WGTC Golden Knights baseball team.
The camp is set up to instruct the young children the fundamentals of baseball while also serving as a learning tool for their parents.
“Todd does a great job with the kids and the parents,” said Chris Little, Bill Arp Park’s baseball president. “This is the third year that his team has done this for us. We can’t say enough about the experience. Bill Arp Park is proud to have him help out the local community here and the parents just love it.”
The camp was held over two hours, with the teaching of basic fundamentals of the game. Each child was personally instructed by coach Pratt or one of the WGTC players.
“I love doing this, and one of the biggest reasons is the expressions I see on these kids’ faces,” Pratt said. “I hope to continue doing this for years. As a former major leaguer, it feels good to give back to the community that supported me when I was on the big diamond.”
