Two GCAA schools to start Women's Golf in Fall 18
The sport of women's golf in the GCAA will triple in size next year. Andrew College and Georgia Military will be joining Oxford-Emory in the fall of 2018. Women's Golf will be starting its first season ever for both the Fighting Tigers and the Bulldogs.
The Fighting Tigers have acquired a very successful and experience former collegiate player to step in as the Head Coach. Kristen Hussak has enjoyed success throughout her golf career, mainly at Daytona State College (NJCAA) and Jacksonville University (NCAA D1).
"I am eager to start building the foundations to a great program here at Andrew. I am extremely appreciative of President Buchanan and Athletic Director Blake Williams for giving me this opportunity" Hussak said.
Assistant AD Sean Gillespie is once again charged with recruiting for Georgia Military. Gillespie recruited all of GMC's men's golfers who captured the NJCAA DIII national championship this past spring. The Lady's Bulldogs will compete on the DII level.
"We are excited about this new program at GMC and look to build off the success that our men have had.. We have some superb facilities to attract top notch golfers and our Mason Golf Performance Lab allows us to work indoors during the winter and when conditions don't allow us to be outside" states Gillespie.
